ADHD Skills

Matthew Nordin, LICSW

Take a look at the illustration "ADHD Superpowers" by artist Tara Winstead, who also designed the illustration above. I put "ADHD Superpowers" on here purposely because people with ADHD often focus on the disadvantages of having this neurodiversity. And often that's because they're getting negative feedback from spouses, parents, supervisors, or teachers. We'll address that, too. But we also need to remember to consider the cooler aspects of having ADHD, which Winstead does a great job of highlighting.

As we work together, we'll look at the emotional parts of having ADHD. But I imagine you're also looking for strategies and skills to harness your ADHD brain into the supercomputer you need it to be. You may have already tried the Pomodoro Technique. But for various reasons, such as the type of career you have, it just doesn't work.

When we work together I won't use a one-size-fits-all approach. As we get to know each other, I'll be able to hone in on which of the various strategies will likely work better for you. I'm also a therapist who's very open to feedback. If something I suggested isn't working, I'll find something else that'll hopefully work better.
